Thanks for sharing; this article is great. I like what she said about trying to reach her student without leaving her English world at all. Once again, I think this speaks to the fact that there are other kinds of literacies and that no matter how much we try to make literature interesting to students, it will often remain uninteresting and irrelevant to the majority. We definitely need to learn to step outsdie the four walls of the "English" classroom...
